It's apparently the secret to a brighter looking face.

Anne Curtis. Pia Wurtzbach. Janine Gutierrez. Do a quick Google search and you’ll see that these local celebrities are known for the tiny baby hair strands that fall across the top of their forehead.

While there’s totally nothing wrong with rocking this look, there are some people who feel self-conscious about it—like Kim Kardashian West. “My forehead had all these little babyhairs, and I would always break out because of them,” reveals the reality star on her website.“Every photographer would Photoshop them out anyway, and I thought I looked better without the baby hairs, but now I miss them.”

So if you’ve been thinking about cleaning up your hairline sans the permanent regret, one option you can try is hairline threading. “It’s [also] ideal for those who have a skewed hairline or one that’s too close to their brows or temple,” says professional makeup artist Xeng Zulueta. Not only can it enhance your face shape and give you a more polished look, Xeng also says that it can balance your features, brighten up your face, and even give you the effect of an instant facelift.

A word of warning though: Even if you can get a threading sesh done at most salons, make sure you do your research and choose an aesthetician who’s highly recommended (in case you’re wondering who to go to, Mae of Emphasis Salon in Rockwell has quite a following). Still nervous about taking the plunge? Xeng arecommends that you bring a makeup artist with you whenever you have this done. “Since hairline threading isn’t common [in our country], you’ll need a makeup artist to blow the whistle and view the procedure from the front,” Xeng explains. “This way, they can tell the person threading where exactly to take more hair or when to stop.”
