At this point in your life, your skin is still at its prime especially if you’ve followed your 20s routine religiously. But then again, you’re now vulnerable to stress and sleep becomes even scarcer. It’s high time to update your skin care products with anti-aging formulas and to consult with your dermatologist. Don’t forget to follow this routine to go around the hormonal changes, added stress, and less amount of sleep you’re undergoing.
It’s time for essence!
Help your skin re-hydrate by adding a layer of essences and serums to your regimen. These are concentrated formulas that are far easier for the skin to absorb than your regular mositurizers. This, however, doesn’t mean you should slack off on your moisturizer. In fact, you also have to update it with anti-aging components.

Brighteners are your new bestfriend.
In your 30s, skin darkening and dulling are more prominent. Sun spots, acne, melasma patches, and hormonal imbalances cause this skin pigmentation. To combat this, look for skin brighteners in all your skin care products. Kojic acid, vitamin, licorice, and lineolic acid are your best bets as these are gentler on the skin. Have them in your cleansers, masks, and essences.

Amp up your sun protection.
Wear SPF like it’s your second skin. Thirty-something skin is more prone to dryness and fine lines. You’re not just fighting UVA or UVB rays but also all pollution and dirt in your everyday commute. Opt for sunscreens with a wider range of protection including antioxidants.

Learn about night creams.
Boost your collagen cell production to keep your skin young-looking and vibrant. Retinoids are usually the key, supplemented by Vitamin A. But the latter can cause flaky skin and unwanted redness so opt for retinols instead, a gentler alternative that still offers anti-aging benefits. Although you might have to be more patient in waiting for the results being retinols aren’t as concentrated as retinoids.

Add in eye cream application to your routine.
The skin around your eyes are susceptible to thinning, thus you’re more likely to develop bigger eyebags and hollow eyes. To depuff the bags, go for eye creams that contain caffeine to tighten the area. For shadowy peepers, opt for creams that have antioxidants and hyaluronic acid.
