Sweet The Sting Find out the buzz on MATRIX's 2009 Honey.Luxe Collection

Breaking previously-set records was MATRIX's latest hair show in the Rockwell Tent, as the brand re-launched its So.Color Beauty Shades to more than 800 trade professionals, highlighting this season's sweet spot for hair color: honey. Honey.Luxe, the star shades of their Spring/Summer '09 color collection, was brought to much-buzzed-about levels under the expert hands of MATRIX Artistic Ambassadors Jude Hipolito and Rose Velasco, together with David's Salon's Artistic Directors Ruel Samonte, Gio Ledesma and Anthony Erlano.

The warm, rich-hued tint brings out the natural glow in Asian complexions. Both caramel blondes and light brunettes get equal play, while the Honey.Luxe Color Services make use of multi-tonal techniques—like mixing sunny highlights with soft lowlights—to maximize the liquid gold of the season's most popular hair shade, with none of that tacky, dry-looking brassiness.

Like honey to a bee, everyone's bound to get attracted to his or her own color: MATRIX offers 33 various shades that all have the same long-lasting, grey-covering and smoothness-inducing formula. Whoever said color did nothing but dry out your locks clearly lived in the Stone Age, as fair-haired maidens can now get that way with zero damage to their tresses.

Summer's around the corner, so it's prime time to warm up your complexion with a brighter hair color. Ed's tip: morenas and those with tanned skin can maximize their enviable complexion with a radiant, caramel hair color. Fair-skinned ladies do best with a cool, refined highlight-lowlight mix of sunny blonde. Hot weather means an even hotter hue, so don't be afraid to go towards the light!

MATRIX Honey.Luxe Collection '09 is available in leading salons.
