L'Oréal Philippines tucked another milestone under its belt with the awarding of its maiden Brandstorm National Champion at their 2009 Philippine National Finals held last April 17th at Discovery Suites. L'Oréal Brandstorm, the biggest global marketing competition provides graduating and post-graduate students a chance to role-play as brand managers and create a new product line for one of their labels.

Among the six finalists who presented their own brand and market research and campaign for a fragrance for Maybelline New York, one of the hip names under the L'Oréal umbrella, Team Bang from De La Salle University went home with the top plum for their Maybelline product, "Disco." The 3-person team, comprised of Arlene Amante, Sars Santos and Kat Villanueva received not only major bragging rights but a flight to Paris as well—in June 2009 they stand to compete with 40 other countries at the International Finals for the international Brandstorm Marketing Award. Sweetening the deal even further is the grand prize of a 10,000-euro worth trip anywhere in the world.

During the evening's celebratory festivities at Fiamma, special awards were given to several of the competition's standout speakers and designs. Vanity also proved a worthy cause, as a few lucky guys and gals got singled out by Maybelline and L'Oréal men's fragrances.
