OG K-drama fans would agree that she doesn't seem to age.

Crash Landing on You is no doubt a huge phenomenon, one that relaunched the careers of its leads stars to next-level fame. Don’t get us wrong though, because way before CLOY took Netflix by storm, Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin were already household names in the Hallyu entertainment industry. In fact, OG K-drama fans might remember Ye Jin from 2003’s Summer Scent, the third installment from the season-themed tetralogy Endless Love drama series, in which she starred alongside Song Seung Heon.

Do the math—that’s 17 years ago. We kid you not.

Ye Jin, now 38 years old, looks like she hasn’t aged a day since. Because if you paid any attention to Yoon Se-ri’s skin at all, then you don’t need us to tell you that her dewy “glass skin” complexion is still as clear as day. That said, we couldn’t help but wonder what her beauty secrets are that she has managed to look as fresh and youthful even after almost two decades later.

Below, the five things we discovered:

1. She loves a DIY cucumber face mask.

In an interview from two years ago, the actress revealed that she grew up watching her mom make cucumber eye masks. This age-old beauty trick, which is known for soothing skin and reducing dark circles, can be done by refrigerating sliced cucumbers and placing them over your eyes. “There weren’t a lot of cosmetic products back then,” Ye Jin revealed. “I have followed in [my mom’s] footsteps—I still use cucumbers today.”

2. She doesn’t believe in the 10-step skincare routine.

The 10-step skincare routine is a very popular method in K-beauty, which involves double-cleansing, masking, toning, and applying serum and essence, among others. But for Ye Jin, who doesn’t have particularly dry skin, she prefers a no-fuss skincare routine. “It’s impossible to do 10 steps (laughs). I think it depends on the person’s skin type… But in my case, having too many steps is too much. I prefer something simple, around one to two steps,” she explained.

3. She’s very meticulous about cleansing.

We all tend to be lazy when it comes to removing our makeup after a long, exhausting day (which is a big no-no, by the way!), but Ye Jin—who admits to having oily skin—is very disciplined when it comes to cleansing her face. “I previously heard that it’s not good to wash your face with cleanser in the morning, so I would just rinse my skin with water. But I realized that my skin is oily, so I need to cleanse every morning,” the actress revealed in an interview. “Even when my schedule ends late at night, I would still cleanse my face. I put in extra care into cleansing.”

4. She’s a huge fan of face masks.

K-beauty sheet masks are a trend that most of us are obsessed with, and Ye Jin is no exception. In fact, the K-drama star slaps on a face mask almost every day, especially before filming “to make sure that [her] skin is at its best condition.” She noted, “I think it’s very effective if you’re looking for a quick fix before an important event.”

Masks are a travel must-have for her as well, in addition to aloe vera and Skin Inc’s refreshing Pure Serum Mist. “Facial masks are one of the must-brings for me whenever I go overseas,” Ye Jin shared. “I bring a lot of things when I travel, especially when my skin becomes dry. I have oily skin, so putting on too many ingredients is not good for my skin, hence I usually go for hydrating ones.”

5. She understands that an effective beauty routine goes beyond skin deep.

Skincare isn’t only about what you apply on your skin; it also has a lot to do with how you take care of your body. And when asked about the important beauty tips she’s picked up over the years, Ye Jin has them down pat. “You have to drink a lot of water. It’s not easy but a person has to drink two to three litres of water daily. You also have to sleep well, but that’s not easy either if you’re stressed,” she said. “I usually have a tight schedule and have a lack of sleep when I’m filming, so I try to drink a lot of water and eat a lot of fruits.”
