Somewhere In Time Shu Uemura's Mickey See walks us through Kristine Hermosa's retro-inspired prenuptial shoot.

When news broke out earlier this week that Kristine Hermosa and long time love Oyo Boy Sotto tied the knot in an intimate ceremony, we were all dying to see what the movie star wore down the aisle. Although no photos have been released as of yet from the wedding itself, we spotted these gorgeous pre-nup photos from photographer Nelwin Uy’s blog.

Reminiscent of a scene from the movie Pearl Harbor (the shoot took place aptly at Subic Bay), Kristine donned an array of loose hairstyles revolving around loose waves done up, down and tucked under a wide rimmed hat. But what really got us gushing was her striking bright red lip and heavily winged eye.

We asked makeup artist for the shoot, Mickey See from Shu Uemura about what he did for Kristine. “My makeup look was vintage chic, inspired by a French woman in the '50s.” He continued, “I used almost no foundation because Tin’s skin is flawless. The highlight of the makeup was a perfect red lip.”

By first applying lip balm, Mickey was able to moisten the lips for a smooth base. He then used a lipliner over the entire area to boost the staying power of the lipstick, which he later swiped over it (Mickey used Shu Uemura's Rouge Unlimited RD165 and 175 during the shoot, but both are no longer available in stores).

For those of you who want to try the look for yourselves at home, Mickey says balancing is key, “If you want to wear a red lipshade make the entire face natural. Use black eyeliner to emphasize the shape of the eyes and falsies to make them look bigger.”
