Everything you need in one regimen.

Investing in your skincare doesn't always mean splurging on the most luxurious products. With the vast number of options available now, you can create an entire skincare routine that works while still staying within a given budget. And if you need advice on how to do it, we built our own P2000 routine below with some of our favorite affordable products:

Basic Skincare Routine Under P2000

1. Makeup Remover: Bioré Cleansing Oil, P349

Even if you're on a budget, it's better for your skin to separate your makeup remover and your regular face wash. This way, you have products for when you need to remove a full face or when you just need a quick cleanse. Either a micellar water or a cleansing oil/balm would be a good option for an intial cleanse, and you'll find a lot of these in the drugstore. That said, we do consider oils more affordable since they don't require cotton pads to use!

2. Cleanser: Human Nature Nourishing Facial Wash, P199.75

The type of cleanser you should use depends on your skin type, but you can never go wrong with a gentle formula because usually, those work on everyone. You wouldn't want anything that'll strip your skin and make it feel tight and dry, since this will only damage your moisture barrier and require you to apply more products, which usually adds more to your spending.

3. Exfoliator: Sephora Collection Glow Peel Pads, P355

Physical exfoliators like face scrubs are generally more affordable and are practically everywhere in drugstores, although these aren't the gentlest option for those with acne-prone and sensitive skin. Chemical exfoliators, on the other hand, are usually more pricey but can do a much better job at gently sloughing off dead skin. To save a few bucks on chemical exfoliators, try pre-soaked cotton pads with AHAs and BHAs that you can wash off after a few minutes. Since you'll only use these around twice a week, it actually won't cost you too much!

4. Toner: Celeteque Dermo Science Hydration Toner Alcohol Free, P129.75

Toner isn't an essential step for everyone, so feel free to skip it if you're not a fan! That said, having one on hand does help rebalance your skin's pH level after cleansing, helping it become more receptive to your succeeding skincare products. It also helps remove any last traces of dirt and makeup that you may have left behind post-cleansing.

5. Moisturizer: Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer, P499

If there's anything you should spend the most on in your skincare routine, it should be those that'll stay on your face—like moisturizer, for example. The best moisturizer for you also depends on your skin type, but given our humid weather, you can't go wrong with a lightweight one that sinks right in.

6. Sunscreen: Belo Sun Expert Tinted Sunscreen, 449.75

Some of you might be skeptic about spending on sunscreen with a limited budget, but hear us out. Protecting your skin from the sun protects it from pollution and premature aging from UV rays. Ask any dermatologist and they'll tell you that it's basically the best anti-aging product out there. For optimal protection, pick a suncreen with at least SPF 30 and broad spectrum protection against UVA/UVB rays.
