It all started with one man’s dream of bringing art into beauty. Mr. Shu Uemura pioneered creating new, unique, and universally beautiful makeup looks. In 1968, he introduced his Flaggy look (eyes are checkered and painted in a wing-like manner). His works of art created an influential impact on the beauty industry.
Fast forward to 2013: Established Japanese beauty brand Shu Uemura celebrated its 30th anniversary since its first beautique opening by introducing the EYE-conic collection. Kakuyasu Uchiide, International Artistic Director for the label, created a whimsical look inspired by the fabulous Swinging '60s using the psychedelic colors from the collection.
