A quick scroll through Pretty Little Liars star Shay Mitchell's Instagram will have you noticing two things: (1) she's absolutely stunning; and (2) so is her makeup. And if you've been following her for a while, you've probably been as curious about her beauty secrets as we are.
Thankfully, the half-Filipino actress just shared her daily makeup routine on YouTube, dropping major beauty tips along the way. But if we were to pick our favorite, it has to be her foundation trick!
First, we're not gonna lie—Shay uses a ton of products for her everyday makeup. She contours, highlights, and uses eyeshadow on a daily basis! Surprisingly though, she really doesn't use that much foundation. And that's because the actress flips the regular sequence of steps and uses concealer first.
According to Shay, she uses a high-coverage concealer to camouflage her problem areas first, allowing her to use less product after. Her foundation then only goes on the outer perimeters (forehead, jawline, temples, and the hollows of her cheeks) to lightly contour and warm up those areas. Take note that she does use foundation that's slightly darker than her skin to do this.
