In the realm of digital beauty, “to see is to believe” no longer counts. Bringing iconic beauties into life—only with cosmetics—feast your eyes on these four beauty-inclined girls, two makeup artists, and one hashtag that swept the internet.
Kylie Padilla as Angelina Jolie
To get the iconic pout, one thing we learned from Kylie (Jenner, that is), is overlining. It takes a skill and a light hand but it's worth it.
Get the look:
1. Start by coating your puckers in a colorless or base-colored primer.
2. Line just outside your pout with a matte lip pencil like NARS' Lip Liner Pencil in Fantasia (P1250, Rustan's), following its shape, then totally fill in the lips. This not only evens them out, but also makes lipstick stay longer.
3. With an ultra-fine lip brush, like Make Up For Ever's 300 Lip Brush (P1450, Rustan's), start applying your lip color by drawing an X on the cupid's bow, then follow the line you've drawn with your pencil, and fill the entire lip until color is opaque.
Note: The more opaque the color, the better. A sheer finish will reveal where your real lip line is, defeating the purpose of overlining.
Fatima Rabago as Jennifer Lopez
There's probably no one else who can pull off an entirely nude palette look like J.Lo, unless our model, Fatima, tries to transform into her altogether, with the right balance of foundation and highlighting.
Get the look:
1. Don't pick a foundation that's just the right shade or a step lighter than your skin. Many base coverages contain a little amount of sunscreen, which casts a whitish veil all over your face in photos, especially those taken with flash. Going a shade darker is a safer bet as it's easier to manage. Just build it on, and that gets you into the glow-by-J.Lo groove easier.
2. Nude lipstick shouldn't be a hard task, even for tanned girls. The trick to getting the precise shade is much like looking for foundation: Base it on your skin tone. A brown-based lip color looks best on bronze hues, while a tinge of pale pink is best for pale girls. Try J.Lo's lip coloe on with a swipe of L'Oreal's Collection Star in Barely Greige (P625, SM Beauty Store).
3. Finish your look with ultra-subtle contouring (highlight on the nose) paired with individual false lashes on the corners of the eye.
Note: A heavily tanned or bronzed look as a tendency to look dry. Make sure you still glow by loading up on moisturizer beforehand—in cream or sunscreen form—and after, in mist form. Use Inglot's Makeup Fixer (P1250, SM Mega Fashion Hall).
Chelsea Manalo as Rihanna
It takes quite a character to carry a strong, dark lip, like—who else?—Rihanna. Channel you inner bad gal with a clean, deep burgundy matched with strategic highlighting. Take note: It doesn't count as a statement lip if it isn't perfect.
Get the look:
1. Set the stage for your statement color by prepping you lips. Line the edges with a nude lip liner, like Make Up Forever's Lip Liner Pencil in Warm Nude (P1300, SM Mega Fashion Hall), then line with a shade of red similar to your final lip color. Fill in the entire lip with the colored lip liner. We used MAC's Creamstick Liner in Red Enriched (P1000, Rustan's) and Matte Lipstick in Studded Kiss (P1000).
2. Apply lip gloss with a brush—the sharp edges make for easier application if the tricky formula. Lancôme's L'Absolu Velours in Velours de Grenade (P1495, Greenbelt 5) tops the look off perfectly.
3. Counter the deep shade with the secret weapon for glowing skin: highlighter. Swirl a soft brush onto Laura Mercier's Matte Radiance Baked Powder Compact (P1750, Rustan's) and sweep over the skin, brighten the face around the eyes, the brow bone, the cheekbones, and on the bridge of the nose. No harsh contouring needed.
Agoo Bengzon as Kim Kardashain
To morph into The Queen of Kontour, you need a heavy but precise hand with your non-shimmer bronzer and loads and loads of mascara and false lashes. Prepare your cheekbones—they're about to get a lift.
Get the look:
1. Before anything else, pay attention to your face shape. Kim's facial silhouette is oval, so you might want to whittle down your jawline and give extra highlight to your cheekbones with the help of Happy Skin's Feeling Sculptural Face Contour Kit (P1299, Plains & Prints).
2. If you're naturally chinita like Agoo, eyelid tape (P66, Daiso, Robinsons Galleria) works wonders. Here, she wears a single-sided tape, since it might be difficult to apply makeup pver the double adhesive tape.
3. Finish off your Kim K. transformation by drawing brows a little lower and with a double serving of eyelashes. Whether you're using falsies or just mascara—try Shu Uemura's Natural Volume 01 False Eyelashes (P1100, Shangri-La Plaza East Wing)—remember to de-clump!
