If we're going to talk about K-pop idols who sported the most unique hairstyles, Sandara Park will always be on top of our list. When 2NE1 was still actively promoting, her 'dos turned heads and set new trends. However, one of Dara's hairstyles actually made her feel unpretty.
On September 14, 2022, Dara became a guest on the variety show Radio Star. Here, she talked about 2NE1's reunion at the Coachella and looked back on her days as a member of the iconic girl group.
Dara had a half-shaved hairstyle when 2NE1 promoted their hit single "I Love You," which is a bit more low-key compared to the other 'dos she tried. But she had a different feeling while sporting it.
"I've had lots of different hairstyles as a 2NE1 member. It was because we once said to each other, 'Let's not be girls on stage. Let's be artists.' My shocking hairstyles often made headlines back in the day. The thing was though, when I half-shaved my head for another unique hairstyle, I was in a relationship. With make-up, the half-shaved hairstyle looked really cool. It made me look kind of sexy. It didn't give off the same kind of vibe without makeup though," Dara shared.
She continued and said that her then-partner gave her the confidence she needed. "If I looked at myself in the mirror wearing pajamas with no make-up, then I felt like I looked terrible. I just looked hideous. Every time I looked at myself in the mirror, my confidence vanished. But my boyfriend at that time was like, 'You look pretty even with that hairstyle.'" Aww!
Dara also picked the hairstyle that she'll never forget, and it's the Super Saiyan/Vegeta hairdo that she wore for their "I Am The Best" comeback. She also brought it back during 2NE1's Coachella performance!
The K-pop star added that she used hair treatment four to five times just to get her hair down because shampoo doesn't work. Her neck would also hurt because she had to tilt her head when inside a car.
TBH, you look good in any hairstyle, Dara eonnie!
