Rhian Ramos has sworn off using anything scented on her face. After years of trying different makeup and skincare products, she knows now what works for her skin and what doesn't.
"My beauty regret is pretty much using any of my fragrant stuff on my face. I didn't know na I react negatively to that," the actress told PEP.ph during the OPULENCE: Let Them Eat Cake! Halloween party. "And whenever I use anything na may smell or may scent, the better it smells, the [worse] I look."
Rhian explained, "It's not pimples, but it's more like my rosacea acts up. I get very red and it feels hot and uncomfortable and kinda itchy." Rosacea is one of the most common effects of applying scented beauty products on your face, whatever your skin type may be.
According to Mayoclinic, rosacea is a "common skin condition that causes redness, visible blood vessels in your face" and "may also produce small, red, pus-filled bumps."
When asked how she treated her rosacea, Rhian said, "I go to Belo first and have all the redness lasered out and if there are any bumps that stay, I just use mga natural things like aloe vera or cold things. Sometimes I put ice on my face. My face just needs cold all the time."
Most importantly, Rhian said she changed her skincare routine. She now uses products that are non-irritating and gentle to the skin. She said, "Right now, like my moisturizer is Cetaphil or something basic or non-scented."
