For the beauty queen turned mom, there's no need to "bounce back" from one's pregnancy weight.

Many new moms feel a certain pressure to "get back" their bodies after they give birth. While there's nothing wrong with having that as one's goal, Miss Universe Philippines 2017 Rachel Peters has a more profound reason why she wants to get fit.

In case you missed it, the beauty queen has a daughter named Kaia with her husband Migz Villafuerte. Before their little girl entered the world, Rachel has opened up about her "mom bod" and how she sees no reason to hide any part of it from the world. A month before she gave birth, she also had the most gorgeous, sultry maternity shoot, displaying the bump on her tummy in all of its glory.

Now almost a year later, Rachel's been on the grind to keep her figure in tip top condition. She does this with the help of her personal trainer Pat Gatus.

In a recent Instagram post, she opened up about her fitness journey, first putting out a disclaimer that it's, "not [about] bouncing back because I don’t think that’s any mum's priority, but to give credit where credit is due."

The photos she shared depicted a comparision of her figure from two months post-partum, to eight months post partum. One can notice a significant difference in the size of her tummy, as well as her glutes. "I’m pretty freakin’ proud of myself but beyond the physical changes, working with coach Pat has done so much more for my mental health," she says. 

Rachel goes on to share that, "I workout not with the goal of going back to my pre pregnancy weight or measurements but to be the healthiest, strongest version of myself [and] for my daughter."

To wrap things up, she jokes that she's has another reason to workout, one we can all probably relate to. "Being able to fit into some of my clothes again has also been motivation because I hate spending money." LOL!
