To cap of 2010, Solenn Heussaff graces the Preview December cover decked out in Tory Burch’s resort collection going on a virtual journey around the world. Divided into two parts, a gritty city section and an earthy bohemian spread, the make up and hair team composed of Ricci Chan and Vianney Guese painted, created beauty looks fit for any continent.
To encapsulate the urban feel of the first section, Ricci gave Solenn gritty smokey eyes, with a generous helping of falsies to add even more drama. He softened the look by blurring the hard edges and by balancing the strong eye make up with muted lips and cheeks. Vianney pulled the covergirl’s tresses into a frothy updo with loads of texture and movement.
For the second look, Ricci darkened the smokey eye further and added a cherry apricot on the lips to brighten up the mood. Hair was pulled back into a severe middle parted low bun to offset the flowy print-on-print outfits.
But as much as the make up colors played a pivotal role in the overall look, so did one element that didn’t need to be faked–Solenn’s glorious post Survivor Philippines tan which gave the entire shoot a mark of authenticity.
