Instagram has convinced us to purchase a long list of things—skincare included, obviously. That's why when we started spotting the same red jar of moisturizer on our feeds, being raved about by everyone from beauty queens to It girls and makeup artists, we just had to investigate.
You're probably already familiar with original Olay's Regenerist line, which focuses mostly on preventing signs of aging. The Micro-Sculpting Cream's signature red packaging has personally been on my mom's vanity since I was little, so when I saw it on Instagram, there's no mistaking it. That said, the product that Pia Wurtzbach was showing off on one of her posts seemed a little different—turns out, the original cream recently got a makeover. It now comes in a lighter, airier formula—the Whip, as they call it—that basically stands in as the cult-classic's tropical weather-friendly alternative.
Like its predecessor, the Regenerist Whip's ingredient list is chock-full of age-defying ingredients. It contains vitamin B3 (or niacinamide) for cell turnover and brightening, amino-peptides for repair, hyaluronic acid for locking in hydration, and antioxidants for pollution protection. It claims to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as well, but without the usual heaviness of your average wrinkle cream.
In fact, this oil-free moisturizer was actually made for normal to oily skin, so it's lightweight enough to let you hydrate and fight signs of aging even during the day. And if you're just beginning to dip your toes into anti-aging products, it could be a great place to start.
