The evening opened with a flash of drama. As the lights dimmed, a single spotlight shone on the catwalk. As one model stepped forward, she pulled on an invisible string and in the wake of her updo flowed a waterfall of bouncy, healthy (and enviable) hair. Parading down the runway were the designs of Joey Samson’s professional wear, JC Buendia’s casual collection, and evening collection of Randy Ortiz. Not to be outdone by the clothes, Celeste Tuviera (Hana’s hair stylist for the night) gave the girls enviable coifs that came in form of bouncy curls, pin-straight hair, and glamorous updos.

The fashion show that opened the event marked the launch of Hana, a new hair care brand to land on Philippine shores. Putting a prime on natural cleansers and doing away with harsh ingredients, Hana promises beautiful locks without the harmful additives. “We want to showcase hair in its natural glory,” says Hana brand manager Norman Mier. “We go beyond the quick fixes through sustainable solutions and long-lasting effects to bring your hair back to its natural state, the way nature intended it to be.”

Coupled with their launch is their #NoFilterBeauty campaign, a campaign that focuses on being naturally beautiful without the need of digital tweaking. All you have to do is post a selfie on your Instagram account without using a filter. All photos should be against natural backgrounds and should be tagged with #NoFilterBeauty and #HanaShampoo.
