The internet's eyes and ears are on the ongoing trial between celebrity ex-spouses Amber Heard and Johnny Depp. The case centers on Heard's physical and domestic abuse allegations against Depp throughout their one-year marriage. The trial is still ongoing, but recently, a beauty brand became involved after one of their products was used by Heard's camp as evidence.
During one of the hearings, Heard's lawyer Elaine Bredehoft claimed that the actress carried a makeup palette in her bag to cover bruises allegedly caused by her ex-husband.
"This was what she used. She became very adept at it," she said, showing the palette to the court. "You're going to hear the testimony from Amber about how she had to mix the different colors for the different days of the bruises as they developed in the different coloring and how she would use to touch those up to be able to cover those."
The footage from the trial made rounds online, and the makeup palette in question was identified by netizens as the Milani Cosmetics Conceal + Perfect All in One Correcting Kit. This was confirmed by the brand on their official TikTok account, however, they also pointed to what appears to be inconsistency in Heard's camp's statement.
In the now-viral video, Milani clarified that concealer kit presented by the actress' camp was launched in 2017. Heard filed for divorce from Depp in 2016, so it would have been impossible for her to own the palette during the course of their relationship.
"You asked us... let the record show that our Correcting Kit launched in 2017," the brand wrote.
Milani's statement has now led many to doubt Heard's claims against Depp. Heard's camp has yet to comment about the issue.
Depp first filed a 50 million-dollar suit against Heard after the actress implied to have suffered physical and domestic abuse from him in an op-ed for The Washington Post. In response, Heard filed a 100 million-dollar counterclaim against her ex-husband that stands to verify the alleged abuse.
The case is still ongoing, and the hearings are streamed live on the Law & Crime Network.
