"Pinaka insecurity ko talaga is yung waist ko. Kasi kahit anong workout ko, or like mag diet ako, hindi talaga lumiliit yung waist ko.”

Everybody has bouts with their self-image, but Michelle Vito is here to teach us how to embrace our flaws and not listen to what body shamers have to say.

In an interview with Pep.ph, the actress unapologetically pointed out her insecurities one-by-one. "Unang-una, sige sa face muna, bago tayo pababa,” she began.

"Sa face ko, yung nose ko kasi, fat siya. So yung dulo niya, ma-fluffy. So hindi siya yung pango. Kapag nag picture ako ng frontal, hindi pa-side, mukhang manas yung ilong ko," she said laughing.

She continued to explain how her deepest insecurity happens to be her waist. Siguro pinaka insecurity ko talaga is yung waist ko. Kasi kahit anong workout ko, or like mag diet ako, hindi talaga lumiliit yung waist ko.”

She even brought up the time where she posted a photo of her in a one-piece swimsuit after eating out with her boyfriend. Naturally, a person ends up bloated after eating, but people kept pointing out the size of her stomach. They even went as far as to compare her old photos with the current snap, saying how much bigger it was than before.

She didn’t let that stop her from loving herself though, and she hopes that victims of body shamers won't let what people say get to them.

“Hindi tayo pare-pareho, iba-iba yung body type natin. Siguro tayo nakasanayan lang natin ‘ganito dapat,’ ‘ganyan dapat’. Pero ever since naman, wala naman nagsabi na ganito dapat yung katawan natin, ganyan dapat. Nasa utak lang natin yon, and nasa utak lang ng ibang tao yon," she said.

As advice for anyone facing similar insecurities, she says: “Magpaka-strong tayo, or wag nalang nating pansinin kasi i-accept natin yung mga insecurity natin. Kasi pag mas na-accept natin yon, hindi na tayo maaapektuhan sa sinasabi ng iba. Self-love lang talaga.” We couldn't agree more!
