On her latest IG post, Megan Young recently shared a throwback photo from one of her trips to Siargao in 2019. Her physique was particularly slim yet muscular in the photo, calling it her dream beach bod. She reveals that although that may have been her “summer body goals,” there was a price to pay in order to achieve that skinny figure.
“Hindi kasi ako masaya sa food ko noon—ang konti at halos walang lasa.” Megan jokingly recalls. She acknowledges that it was a tough road for her to cut back so much on food and spend grueling hours at the gym just to get the perfect body. She looked good but felt horrible inside.
Megan isn’t shy to share her fitness journey on Instagram, and how much her mindset towards dieting and health has changed over the years. The beauty queen shares she's glad that she is now able to enjoy the food that she eats daily and it shows evidently on her feed. Other than her mostly pescetarian diet, she gives way for cheat days, too. She proves that you can still look good while listening to your body!
Her hubby Mikael Daez even set up a mini gym inside their home so that they can safely and regularly workout indoors. Megan emphasizes, though, the importance of resting when your body needs it. Taking breaks and not being too hard on oneself are also vital in your progress!
“Nowadays, I’m not aiming for the ‘perfect body’ but I’m aiming to have a healthier one,” she writes as she slams unrealistic body standards and reminds us to prioritize health over merely looking good.
