The much-awaited ABS-CBN Ball is fast-approaching. Preparations are in full swing, and rightfully so because of the exciting theme that was officially announced last August. On September 14, the brightest stars of today will be clad in their Modern Filipiniana attires, and the red carpet will not only be showcasing Filipino talent but will also be putting the spotlight on a good cause in partnership with Bantay Bata 163, a social welfare program that protects children against abuse, exploitation, and neglect.
While we're definitely excited for the fashion, we're also looking forward to the beauty looks that the stars will be sporting on this night of glamour. Makeup trends on the runway have been more adventurous as of late, and we can't help but wonder if the same creative spirit will be present on the red carpet. With that said, we've come up with a list of trends we're most likely to see on our favorite stars at this year's ABS-CBN Ball:
1. Graphic Liner
Graphic liners are having a moment in the beauty community recently. It would be nice to see a contrast between classic Filipiniana and modern eyeliner strokes. There are variations for this liner technique. You can play around with shapes like Kathryn did, or experiment with vibrant colors like Jessy. Either way, it'll surely pop on the red carpet.
2. Colorful Eyeshadow
One of the best things about this year's theme is that the possibilities are endless. Their take on Filipiniana dressing could either be very intricate with beading and embroidery, or super sleek and simple. While many may opt for a neutral smokey eye, a colored eyeshadow is one way to really give a look that extra oomph. After all, if there's one night stars are expected to be more creative with their looks, it's the ABS-CBN Ball.
3. Barely-There Glam
While the red carpet usually calls for a full-coverage HD makeup, more and more celebs are opting for a natural-looking approach to their glam. The key to achieving this relies on getting the base right. Your blush, lip color, and highlighter will come together seamlessly once the groundwork is laid. And if, like Anne and Bea, you've got great skin to begin with, a lightweight base is all you need.
4. Glossy Look
We haven't exactly graduated from the all-matte rage of 2015 (we still love our matte lipsticks, for one!), but we also can't deny how pleased we are with all things glossy making a huge comeback—and we don't just mean on the lips! With K-beauty taking over the market, "glass skin" is no doubt a popular trend even among celebrities.
