Growing up, we’re all led to believe that when it comes to makeup, the less we wear the better. But we all reach a point in our post-teen, pre-yuppie lives where the lure of vivid rouge and sparkly shadow becomes inevitable. Proving that you can wear a winged eye and bright red lip for day and still be age-appropriate is makeup junkie and Cosmopolitan Philippines’ Assistant Beauty Editor Regina Belmonte.
“My beauty philosophy’s a little dare-to-wear. I’m still young (23), so I’m at that age where I love experimenting and playing with color,” she says. While some women find even the basic foundation-concealer-blush-lipstick ritual too taxing for everyday, Regina’s views the process in a different light, “Some people find makeup tedious; I find it fun. It’s a way for me to channel my artistic side, and it keeps me creative. But whether you like things crazy like me, or more subtle and subdued, the most important thing is that your makeup enhances your natural beauty instead of overwhelming it.”
With her adventurous take on hard-to-wear lippie shades and interesting techniques on playing up her eyes, we cap off our Makeup Diaries series with five days of beauty with Regina.
