For Effie Go, entering into the beauty biz was kismet. With older sister Denise Go-Ochoa quickly making it big in makeup artistry and her mother managing Visage Salon along Libis, it was only natural that Effie followed suit into the industry. Almost a decade later, she's mastered the art of creating flawless faces for TV and print commercials and can produce the ever elusive glow on bride-to-bes on cue.
However, despite working on women’s faces day in and day out, Effie confesses that in the past, she never really dabbled in putting products on herself. “It's ironic that as a makeup artist, I was not so much interested in putting makeup on myself, but all that's kind of changed now. I just felt that it was about time to play up my face a little bit as well.” But more than just foundation, blush, and lipstick, she maintains that beauty is “more about confidence and how comfortable you are with yourself and everything that you feel inside. Everything else just really follows. If you feel good, you look good—no matter the amount of makeup is on your face, it reflects in your eyes, your smile. Don't ever let the makeup wear you.”
