Liza Soberano doesn't keep her being a K-pop fangirl a secret. She's a huge Blackpink and BTS fan, and has even attended the groups' international gigs in Hong Kong and Los Angeles. That's why when she posted this photo of herself from a shoot, we could't help but be reminded of someone from one of her favorite groups—check out the photo to see if you can guess who!
If you're a Blackpink fan, then you probably guessed it right. This portrait of Liza immediately had us thinking about Jennie Kim, who you'd usually spot in chic hats (she loves berets) and anything Chanel (she is the brand's ambassador, after all).
Preview reached out to Liza's stylist, Perry Tabora, and he revealed that they were indeed inspired by K-pop for this shoot. "All of us are currently obssessed with Korean pop culture, including Liza. This includes K-pop, K-drama, you name it," he shares. "We just wanted to play around with a fun shoot that highlights the aesthetic of this cultural phenomenon, which generally follows the rule of more is more, but the look is still put together."
Her makeup artist Mickey See says he also made it a point to incorporate K-beauty trends to achieve the look, like "glass skin" and gradient lips. According to him, he only used light tones like brown and pink for a subtle yet romantic glam. "During our spare time, we love doing photoshoots for fun," Mickey tells us. "I'm so happy that I was able to explore Korean makeup techniques, especially [with Liza as my muse who] has the beauty and skin made for that particular makeup."
Needless to say, Liza totally nailed this K-pop look!
