Here's what happened.

Let’s face it: The five-minute makeup routine works best when you’ve got good skin. The less blemishes and fine lines, the less makeup you need to wear. Because, naturally, what would you need to cover up if there’s nothing to hide in the first place? Sadly though, not everyone is blessed enough with blemish- and wrinkle-free skin to be able to skip foundation and concealer altogether. So if you’ve tried all the skincare hacks to erasing those lines but still aren’t getting the results you want, hear out the story of these two Preview girls who just tried treatments that might ease your frustrations.

At the Mecca Aesthetic Clinic and Spa, we got the chance to talk to fitness coaches Lexi Gancayco and Cam Lagmay of Grit Girls Gang—both girls were launched as ambassadors, alongside Jasmine Curtis-Smith, for the Ulthera Youth campaign. "It's great to tell people that there are safe FDA-approved anti-aging treatments for people my age," Jasmine shares, pertaining to Ultherapy, which is a laser treatment that helps collagen production and promises a slimmer and younger-looking face. Meanwhile, Cam and Lexi reveal that there's another equally effective alternative if you're not yet ready for such an intense treatment.

This year I told myself I really wanted to invest more time on skin care maintenance and prevention,” Lexi shares, “I found that last year I’d always feel so dependent on my make up to look 'presentable.'” Skin texture is always an issue when putting makeup on, as base products like concealers and foundation tend to crease and cake in wrinkle-prone areas.

Lexi and Cam tried two of Mecca’s injectable treatments: (1) one is pure neurotoxin that temporarily removes lines and wrinkles; while the other is (2) a hyaluronic acid filler with a special CPM technology for a more natural-looking result.

Lexi’s main concerns were her forehead wrinkles and sullen undereyes, and the neurotoxin made those lines disappear almost instantly. “[MECCA] explained to me that your skin is like a piece of paper that you fold over and over again, so even when you try to straighten it out, if it's worn out already, you’ll still see those folded lines. With this procedure, we’re preventing my skin from exactly that! At the same time, I am given enough time to keep producing collagen for the skin to prevent more wrinkling in the future.” The fillers with CPM technology also addressed her undereye issues, and Lexi admits she can now skip "baking" her makeup because she looks more awake and fresh naturally.

For Cam, the injectibles got rid of the harsh wrinkles between her brows. “The treatment instantly brightened up my T-Zone and gave me a fresher look while still allowing me to keep my naturally expressive face for when I host and instruct my group fitness classes,” Unlike the botox treatments we’ve grown up fearing, these new injectables promise a more natural effect and are rarely rejected by our bodies. Also, it’s painless and there’s zero downtime!

“These are perfect treatments for today’s generation of young women who are always on the go, and [the] results are fast,” Mars Balajadia, CEO of Mecca, tells us. True enough, after her treatment, Lexi reveals she spends less time behind the mirror and more time with her clients without worrying about her looks. “Like I said, it's simple and subtle,” she shares, “I just look more fresh. My makeup routine has definitely been shortened.” And who wouldn’t want to step out looking all made up in a flash?
