LED lash extensions may sound intimidating, but it shouldn't be. In fact, it's said to be one of the safest and most painless methods because it doesn't use conventional eyelash glue, which a lot of people tend to be allergic to.
Basically, here's how it works: The faux lashes are attached using Gel-Lys, a patent-pending gel-curing device with LED attached to the tweezers. This shortens the curing time of conventional lash adhesive from 24 hours to a few seconds. Sounds cool, no? Now watch the video below to see it in action!

This technology originally started in California by Illumino, where Maki Miura—an eyelash expert with over 22 years of experience and the developer of the Brace Lashes technique—took the Gel-Lys training. She then introduced the technology to Asia, and is now bringing LED Extensions to the Philippines this October through her exclusive partnership with NÉW Lounge.
Because the Gel-Lys method uses a cyano-based adhesive with photo initiators, NÉW Lounge claims that LED extensions have better lasting power compared to traditional eyelash extensions. "[It's] ideal for sensitive skin and those with allergies. It’s the safest among all eyelash extension breakthroughs," the beauty lounge writes on their Instagram. However, because the Gel-Lys method requires the use of Lynk Gel, a cyanoacrylate-based adhesive, they do not recommend this for clients with cyanoacrylate allergies.
So, would you try this new lash technology?
