Laureen Uy is the latest to jump on the classic blue hair trend, but her take on the look comes with an interesting twist: She didn't dye her locks blue all the way; instead, the blogger got a two-toned look, which she now considers as one of her most extreme hair colors to date.

Yup, your eyes weren't playing tricks on you—Laureen's hair is half-blue and half-black! According to her colorist Fendi George, he achieved this by bleaching and coloring only the topmost sections of her tresses blue, and then painting the innermost half a natural shade of black.
But what makes this color such a standout is that it makes achieving blue hair less daunting, since you won't have to bleach your strands all the way through. You'll get some effortless dimension from the contrasting shades, too—all you have to do is run your hands through your hair or let the wind do its thing.
Now before you set that salon appointment, remember that a hair color like this requires some major commitment. "Fashion colors like blue, purple, pink, and silver are tricky colors to achieve! If someone wants to get it done the right way, she has to be prepared to spend four to six hours for the process," Fendi tells Preview. "And of course, be prepared to accept the new look cause it's a big change, and be prepared [to shell out] some serious cash. LOL!"
"As for how to maintain the color, I always recommend to get quality professional shampoo for fashion colors! It locks in the color and gives it the right level of shine and smoothness," the colorist continues. "[And] always shampoo with cold water—it's better for the fashion colors so it won't fade fast. Hot water takes out the color faster!"
