La Mer Goes Blue La Mer teams up with Oceana to celebrate World Oceans Day.

With the recent alarming tsunami alerts, it was inadvertently timely that La Mer announced that for the fifth consecutive year, they are celebrating World Oceans Day in conjuction with ocean preservation organization, Oceana. Via webtelecast, Maureen Case, President of La Mer, together with Andrew Sharpless, CEO of Oceana, discussed their efforts for 2010 to a cyber audience of editors worldwide. Welcome to beauty in the computer age.

Maureen and Andrew stressed the urgency for people to take notice of the deterioration of our oceans, and to take action towards the preservation and care of our natural resources. Maureen revealed that the luxe skincare brand will be giving a $200,000 donation to help the organization's projects, with special attention to Oceana's new office in Belize, home of the world's second largest Barrier Reef.

To draw more attention to the cause, La Mer is producing a limited edition blue 100ml Crème de La Mer, which will hit store shelves in time for the June 8 celebration of World Oceans Day. For the first time in its history, the wonder cream will sport a sapphire label, straying from its traditional seafoam green packaging. The special edition will hit Philippine shores on June 2010, retailing for P16,500 at La Mer Rustan's Makati.
