The mystery of Kylie Jenner's full lips have long been solved, and it was Kylie herself who cleared the air for us in her family's reality show. However, she never really talked much about it enough to explain why. Until now.
In her cover story with Complex magazine, Kylie talked openly about her relationship with Tyga, her cosmetics line, and her decision to get her lips done at 16. "It has been an insecurity of mine all my life," she tells the magazine. And it was worsened by a particularly rude encounter she had in middle school. "This guy I kissed was like, 'Your lips are really small but you’re a really good kisser. I didn’t think you were gonna be good at kissing,' It was so rude. From then on, I just felt like I saw guys staring at my lips. I felt like no one wanted to kiss me." Kylie recalls.
After her first lip procedure, Kylie admits that she went a little too far with it, too. "When you first get them done, you’re like, 'Oh, it could be a little bit bigger on that side.' I’d go back and be like, 'They went down' and think they could be bigger. But I went too far. It was very painful."

The fact that the media wouldn't stop talking about it didn't help her either, and she also thinks that her decision to lie about not having her lips done was a mistake. She did, however, had better reasons for hiding it. "I wasn't even 17 yet...These kids, my fans, they’re going to think I’m crazy. I didn’t want to be a bad influence. I didn’t want people to think you had to get your lips done to feel good about yourself," she says. "But they thought it was crazier that I was lying about it because it was so obvious. I wish I had just been honest and upfront."
Either way, we're hoping that this finally puts the lip injection controversy to rest. From here on out, how about we focus more on Kylie's current success as a businesswoman?
