I realized, after being cooped up at home for the past three to four months, that putting on makeup has become oddly therapeutic. I definitely started to miss wearing lipstick out during my trips to the grocery, and if you’re like me, who used to wear makeup almost every day to work, you’d definitely relate to that feeling of your daily self-care routine being suddenly incomplete. To remedy this, I’d actually wear makeup at home sometimes to feel good—because with everything that’s been happening in the world, self-love is a must.
That said, if you’ve also turned to makeup as a way to cope and reward yourself during these trying times, then you’d love to shop Issy & Co.’s collab collection with Alex Gonzaga.

Composed of six lip mousses, three multi-way slim highlighters, and five cream blushes, the collection created with Alex is nothing short of stunning in terms of shade range and packaging. All the lip and cheek formulas are easily blendable and pigmented, and the color range looks great on a variety of skin tones, too! Meanwhile, the highlighters are perfect for all the girls who like that subtle and not blinding glassy glow.

Lip Mousse
I particularly like the doe foot applicator of their lip mousses since they’re bendy and make lining and applying the pigment super easy. You’ll notice that these shades are all very flattering MLBBs, and there’s definitely a shade that’ll fit everyone, whether you have dark or light complexion. The matte formula is opaque enough and blendable to the point that the pigment is still vibrant with a diffused or smudged lip. It also doesn't have a silicone-like consistency that prevents it from slipping even when you've moisturized a lot with some lip balm.

Crème Blush
My favorite product from the collection and probably one of the best local cream blushes I’ve tried! Since I have oily skin, I tend to stay away from cream blushes because of their fairly poor staying power. What I like about this particular blush is its consistency—the formula isn’t too oily and the pigmentation is pretty potent. Stunner in particular is a must-have shade since it looks like such a natural flush and has tiny gold flecks for an added glow!

Slim Highlighter
If wearing highlighter has always intimidated you, then you need to try Issy & Co.’s highlighter slimsticks. These sticks give off a very subtle and barely-there highlight that looks great in selfies under the sun. They’re also perfect when highlighting the inner corners of your eyes, as well as your cupid’s bow.

The Collection When Worn
Here’s a full makeup look using most of the products in the collection. I even used one of the blushes as eyeshadow, and despite my oily lids, the crème blush held up pretty well. I also used two different highlighters: one for my inner corner and one as a full face highlight.

On my eyes: ISSY & CO. crème blush in Stunner, P349, ISSY & CO. highlighter slimstick in Stellar, P329; On my cheeks: ISSY & CO. crème blush in Scandal, P349; ISSY & CO. highlighter slimstick in Celestial, P329; On my lips: ISSY & CO. lip mousse in Fiancee, P399, Laz Mall
Overall, all the products in the collection are multi-use and you can opt to wear the blush as a lip tint, the lipstick as a cheek stain or even eyeshadow. The highlighters can also be applied on different areas of your face. So if you’re dying to play with new makeup, this collab will make you want to put on a fresh face at home. Because, why not?
