If you're reading this, chances are, you most probably have colored hair and you want to remove it so you can switch up your hue. You may have blue locks that have faded into a not-so-flattering green hue or pink hair that just won't clear out even after how many washes.
Of course, the best way to get rid of your current hair color is by having it professionally corrected at a salon. But if that isn't an option for you, don't worry—hairdresser Brad Mondo has your back. He tried four different ways to strip the dye from your locks, and the best part is, you can do them all at home. Read on to know more:
Brad used a mannequin's freshly dyed hair as his canvas, and his starting color was a beautiful deep blue. Check out the before and after results of each method! (Editor's note: Since these hacks involve strong stripping agents, make sure to use a deep conditioning mask once you're done.)
Method 1
Ingredients needed:
- Vitamin C powder (alternatively, you can also crush Vitamin C tablets)
- Water
Apply the paste onto damp hair. Make sure to really massage the mixture onto your locks. Leave it on for an hour and rinse it off with warm water. Repeat as needed.

Method 2
Ingredients needed:
- Dish soap
- Baking soda
- Anti-dandruff shampoo
Mix everything into a paste and apply it to your hair using a brush. Leave it on for 20 minutes and rinse it off with warm water. Repeat as needed.

Method 3
Ingredients needed:
- Color Oops Hair Color Remover (we found one here!)
Mix equal parts of Color Oops Part 1 and 2. Apply the mixture onto your strands evenly. Leave it on for 20 minutes; you may cover your hair with a shower cap to speed up the process. Wash it off using shampoo and rinse with warm water.

Method 4
Ingredients needed:
- Bleach
- Anti-dandruff shampoo
- 20 volume developer
- Water
Mix together the four ingredients into a paste and apply it to your strands. Let it sit for 20 minutes. Wash it off using shampoo and rinse with warm water.
