Here's the secret: Don't put any foundation on your nose.
Why? Since the nose is the center of the face, the absence of foundation makes it look like you're not wearing any. So by applying foundation just on the parts where you need it (most likely around the lips and nostrils and the undereye area,) you fool the eye into thinking that the mixture of bare and perfected skin is actually your real skin! It's all about letting your natural texture shine through instead of covering it up.
"Makeup is always about an optical illusion," Violette quips in the video. "If you only have foundation where you need it but the rest is bare, no one will think you have foundation. They'll think it's your real skin."
