I've been there, too! Hair does grow, but I also want to speed up the process. On average, the strand grows half an inch per month IF it's in its prime healthy state. Factors like diet, hormones, and stress affect the hair's growth rate.

How To Grow Long, Healthy Hair Faster

1. Start with the scalp.

Your hair grows from your scalp so it's important to keep its point of origin healthy. Keep the scalp free from buildup and dirt, plus nourish with a growth serum.

My trio of choice: This salt scrub, scalp massager brush, and hair thickening serum. I exfoliate my scalp once a week, and I use the massager every time I shampoo my hair. I apply the serum to the scalp after I wash my locks.

2. Don't brush your hair when it is dripping wet.

I've got bleached hair, so my strands are fragile as my ego after failing on an important task. (TMI, but it had to be said.) I squeeze out excess water using a microfiber towel until my hair becomes damp. Then, I just finger-comb, use a wide-toothed comb, or a special hairbrush made for wet hair.

3. If you must use hot tools, apply a heat protectant.

I cannot let go of my hairdryer and straightener so I compromised and always applied a heat protectant before styling my hair. I go for a formula that also hydrates my strands. I noticed that my locks aren't that brittle anymore!
