Once all those gym hours have begun paying off (a.k.a. when your abs have finally decided to make an appearance), you must let the 'gram know. After all, you've worked hard for those cuts so you might as well show them off! Your grand reveal better give your new bod justice—and thankfully, you won't need a pro photographer for this.
Take your cue from blogger Shari Poquiz, who maximized the power of angles and lighting to make her abs pop in photos. We know, it sounds obvious, but there's no denying that her method works.
First, she makes sure her light source directly hits her core instead of leaving it in the shadows. In this photo, for example, she's standing beside a wide window that allows daylight in so her ab muscles are in full view and are further defined by the shadows. That elbow she's resting on the glass is no accident either—it actually helped her engage her core (read: flex) to define her cuts even more! And to prove just how well these tips work, Shari shot another photo sans proper lighting and flexing—the difference speaks for itself!
