For those who've never spritzed on the lavender potion, Eclat, or Eclat d’Arpège is a fruity-floral scent from French fashion house Lanvin, and is created by Grasse-born Karine Dubreuil (Gucci, Guerlain, Jo Malone). At first whiff, a delicate bouquet of green lilac and Sicilian lemon leaves transports one to the first day of spring. Then it gets slightly deeper with a wisteria blossom heart, with the push and pull of innocent peach blossom, sensual red peony, and airy green tea leaves. Finally, a whisper-light musk wafts in, cutting all the gentleness with a mysterious hit - like the modern-day equivalent of dropping a handkerchief by a man, then walking away. Leave it to Ellen to nail the sexy-sweet paradox.
