Looking our best is always an issue for us girls, and most often than not, it has a lot to do with how we take care of our crowning glory. Having shiny, healthy hair can work wonders while dull, brittle mane can totally alter how you look. That said, we cornered three of our local celebs with long locks and shiny tresses during the Vitress event last week and had them spilling the beans about their hair care secrets.
Read on and relive a few unforgettable hair moments with Gretchen Ho, Solenn Heussaff, and Kim Jones.
How long does it take you to style your hair?
Kim: 5 minutes, maybe 10 on a special day. You’ll see on my blog post, I just basically run a straightener through my hair. And then just to sort of keep it going, I use dry shampoo and then I use Vitress to keep it sleek and shiny.
Gretchen: 5 minutes for blow dry, 5 minutes for iron, and then mabilis lang ‘yung paglagay ng Vitress.
What’s your hair care regimen?
Kim: I don’t wash my hair everyday. I think it’s a great way to sort of allow my natural oil to do the work for me. I believe in investing on good shampoo and conditioner as well. If you dyed your hair, buy something that will enhance and protect that.
Solenn: I never used to really take care of myself. I’m like a boy, so when I entered showbiz I had to learn all these new things. I apply Vitress like at least five times a day and it doesn’t look oily.
Who are your hair pegs?
Kim: I really love Olivia Palermo’s hair and Blake Lively's too! Blake has this incredible I-didn’t-curl-it-but-it-looks-like-I-curled-it look. Very natural.
Gretchen: Meron akong isang ginaya, si Angelina Jolie. I really look up to her. Very strong, very fierce, very empowered, and at the same time she looks very hot.
Solenn: Victoria’s Secret models and peg ko! [Laughs] I like big, flowy, wavy hair.
What's the craziest haircut you've ever tried?
Kim: My mom cut my hair up above my ears. I was twelve and I was scarred for life. [Laughs]
Gretchen: Craziest haircut, I don’t think I’ve done it yet. But gusto ko ng short hair. Boy cut na girly pa rin pero magulo, like a bob.
Solenn: I was twelve, and it was parang mushroom cut tapos red. It was super horrible.
And craziest hair color?
Kim: I haven’t really had a crazy hair color, but I did sort of get it wrong. I dyed it a little bit red and then I dyed my eyebrows red also. I thought I was gonna look like Jessica Alba, but I don’t know. [Laughs]
Gretchen: Craziest hair color would probably be the highlight that I did last time. It grew really light. It becomes lighter and lighter when you iron it so sobrang light na ng buhok ko until nagmuka na akong may ombre.
Solenn: Bright, bright red. I was crazy when I was young. I was experimental, but now I’m very safe.
Any hairstyle you won’t ever be caught dead sporting?
Kim: Obviously, like a mohawk or something.
Gretchen: A manly haircut.
Solenn: I’m probably never gonna do like blue hair and I’m never gonna shave my head like Miley Cyrus.
Long or Short?
Kim: Long. I love the femininity of long hair.
Gretchen & Solenn: Long
Straight or Curly?
Kim: Curly, but it takes longer so straight.
Hair up or Hair down?
All: Hair down
