Make your locks look their best!

When we asked the pros about their best youth-reviving hair tips, we found out that your hair color alone could make such a huge difference. We obviously had to investigate, so below, we round up some expert-approved dye jobs that'll take years off your locks:

1. Chocolate Brown

In our previous story, Marqed Salon creative director Mark Rosales recommended a chocolate brown hair color for achieving healthy-looking hair and a more youthful vibe overall. Since it's slightly lighter than the average Filipina's natural hair color, it'll make your locks appear more lightweight and give you a fresher aura without doing a major change.

2. Caramel Beige Blonde

Going from dark brown to this chic hue is a technique that Basement Salon Rockwell creative director Joe Alkmadesi loves using to achieve a younger look on his clients. It can suit a variety of different features on skin tones depending on how it's mixed, like for example, a cool-toned version of this color will look amazing on someone with warm-toned skin.

3. Any balayage or ombre hair color

How a color is incorporated to your locks matters, too. Joe explains that a balayage or ombre hair color will help frame and contour the face, giving you natural definition even without makeup. "As the French taught me, it gives that instant je ne sais quoi with minimal effort, just like a pair of high heels," he tells us. Consult your colorist on the best colors to use for your hair!

4. Ash Balayage

Alex Carbonell of Studio Fix by Alex Carbonell also recommends balayage hair colors as it maintains darker roots, making it incredibly low-maintenance. Can't decide on what kind of balayage to get? Alex thinks an ash blonde balayage that cascades to warm browns is a classic dye job that'll look flattering on almost anyone.

5. T-Section Highlights

If you're battling white hair, Toni & Guy Philippines creative director Maté Grafl recommends T-section highlights or hidden partial highlights to seamlessly blend those grays in with your locks. Another perk from this color is it adds some effortless texture, in case you have fine or thinning hair.

6. One Color Tint

"A classic one color tint in chocolate, mahogany, red, or warm or ash brown can give shine and a luxurious feel," Maté says. Choosing a shade closer to the natural depth of your hair will be a breeze to maintain, too.
