When your skin has reached peak glow, light should bounce right off of it like a reflector. We know—that sounds totally impractical given our hot climes, but celebrity makeup artist Mark Qua would like to prove otherwise. Here's an ultra-dewy, "no-makeup" makeup look he did on Mariel Padilla:
We told you it'd be blinding. Now on to how to cop it, two words: face oil. According to Mark, he mixed Laura Mercier's Infusion de Rose Nourishing Oil (P3050, Rustan's) with foundation, cream blush, and highlighter, buffing them all well into the skin to create a dewy (not greasy) effect. The great thing about using a face oil for this is that it hydrates your skin at the same time. Make sure to choose one that's thinner in consistency, such as rosehip, argan, or jojoba oil to avoid that heavy feel.
To keep that no-makeup vibe going, the makeup artist skipped eyeliner and glued individual falsies on Mariel's lashline instead for undetectable definition. Her brows were lightly filled in and brushed up, while her lips were coated with nude gloss.
FYI, this look is from a series that Mark is doing on Instagram, in which he created 100 different beauty looks (no repeats!) on the It's Showtime host. It's pretty inspiring, so go ahead and stalk the selfies using the hashtag #roadto100looksofmariel!
