Old beauty trends have a way of slipping through the cracks and making a comeback. Just recently, we reported how the ‘60s clumped lashes a la Twiggy have risen from the ashes to transform mod into the new now. Although, if there’s one look we didn’t quite expect to make it to the present decade, that would have to be the ‘90s frosted lip. But lo and behold, it’s back—and it’s looking more fasyon than ever!

Thanks to beauty giants like Tom Ford and MAC Cosmetics who’ve come up with new collections that feature shimmery gilded pouts, the frosted lip trend is suddenly back with a vengeance. From champagne hues to metallic mauves, different beauty brands are rolling out their own versions of lip color with an opalescent finish.
Hollywood stars like Kate Mara, Lupita Nyong’o and Claire Danes have also been sporting it on the red carpet, either used on its own or layered on top of another lipstick to create the metallic finish.
