We know that most of your energy goes to finding the best attire to make a good first impression at a job interview. But ladies, know that your makeup is just as important. The interviewer will take a glance at your perfect 10 ensemble (maybe more if you’re applying for a fashion job), but will essentially be talking to you 98% of the time. That said, it’s imperative that you know how to create a fresh look that will get you past Human Resources and, fingers crossed, eventually get you that job offer.
Peg: Bea Alonzo's natural makeup...with a little less eyeliner. (@deniseochoa)
Here’s how you nail that flawless au naturel look that will hopefully get you your dream job.
Tip #1: Opt for a light base.
Dream Satin Skin liquid foundation, Maybelline, P499
Focus on simply making your skin nice and even, but not too much to the point that it will cake.
Tip #2: Conceal dark spots.
PhotoReady Concealer stick, Revlon, P725
No one has to know that you couldn’t sleep last night. Use a concealer to hide those dark circles!
Tip #3: Just put enough eye shadow to give your eyes life.
Eye Candy eye shadow palette, Pink Sugar, P699 (Available at selected SM Beauty stores)
Dust color on your eyelids lightly using a neutral eye shadow palette. The newest local brand to hit the country, Pink Sugar, has a heavily pigmented selection of shades that is exactly what you need to be interview-ready.
Tip #4: Go for strong brows.
Lasting 2Way Eyebrow stick in Natural Brown, K-Palette, P950
Strong doesn’t have to mean perfectly drawn artista brows. Just fill them enough and make sure they’re groomed well.
Tip #5: Line your peepers.
Super Liner Ultra Sharp, L’Oreal Paris, P400
Use a liquid liner with a thin brush. One thin stroke is all you need!
Tip #6: Open up your eyes.
Double Trouble Mascara, LashEM, P1029.75 (Available at selected SM Beauty Stores)
You wouldn’t want to look sleepy while you’re being grilled. Open up your eyes by curling your lashes and getting them to stay there. LashEM's Double Trouble Mascara is enhanced with hair-growth serum that promises to step up your eyelash batting skills.
Tip #7: Ditch the blush and swipe on a lippie instead.
Shut Up & Kiss Me Moisturizing Matte Lippie in It Girl, Happy Skin, P649
Let your cheeks be; they will naturally turn red when you get asked questions you don’t know the answers to. But do swipe on a light nudish pink hue that's subtle enough to give your puckers a little color without distracting your interviewer.
Good luck, ladies!
