When it comes to most beauty concerns, the answers sometimes are laid out right where we can find them—on our faces. All you have to do is observe and study and you’ll find everything (well, almost) you need, and the same goes for finding the right part for your hair.
While most of us prefer to take our hair stylist's word on what works and what doesn’t, spending some extra time studying the angles of your face can help with getting the right ‘do for you. It’s really just a matter of getting the part right. Here, we show you how to decode your face shape and find the right part that matches it. Let’s take a look, shall we?
FACE SHAPE: Heart
PART: Slightly or deep at the side
Given that you have a prominent chin, parting your hair at the side would give your face more balance as compared to having it parted straight at the center.
FACE SHAPE: Round
PART: Middle or deep at the side
Parting your hair at the middle or deep at the side creates the illusion of a longer face, at the same time creating symmetry.
FACE SHAPE: Square
PART: Slightly at the side
Parting your hair too deep at the side highlights the strong angles of a square shaped face. Soften those lines by parting your tresses slightly to the side and offset your angled jaw with side swept bangs.
FACE SHAPE: Oval
PART: Any
Oval-shaped faces can pretty much pull off anything, which leaves more room to play around. However, you might want to try working a deep side part as it widens your face by rounding it out some more.
