Before the country (the world, rather) was hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, beauty girls have been positively obsessed with getting eyelash extensions, and with good reason—the beauty procedure effectively cuts our makeup routine in half and makes us feel instantly glammed up. Celebrities in particular, such as Heart Evangelista, Bela Padilla, Andrea Brillantes, and Kim Chiu, flock to NÉW Lounge to doll up their peepers. And as the world slowly transitions to the new normal, the beauty brand has also opened their doors once again, starting with their Greenhills branch, to cater to customers who have been eagerly waiting to get themselves a brand new set of pretty, fluttery lashes.
That said, in preparation for the new normal, NÉW Lounge is taking necessary measures to ensure that extreme safety protocols are met. “All eyelash specialists shall undergo a two-week safety training and are subjected to medical screening prior to returning to work. They will [also] don full Personal Protective Equipments (PPE) as they perform lash services,” the brand says in a statement. “There will be frequent cleaning of all surfaces before and after each appointment as well as daily sanitation, anti-bacterial misting, and the presence of high-grade air purifiers. Safety protocols will be visibly posted on various areas of the lounges to serve as a guide for all.”
Planning to pay NÉW Lounge a visit soon? Below, a quick guide to the dos and don’ts of getting lash extensions in the new normal:
1. Bring your own PPE.
This is for your own protection, so don’t forget to wear/bring your own PPE during the beauty service. NÉW Lounge also has available PPEs that you can purchase for a minimal fee.
2. Strictly no walk-ins.
All appointments should be pre-booked online. This is to avoid unnecessarily crowding the space while waiting, so everyone can responsibly practice social distancing at the lounge.
3. No companions allowed.
This goes without saying, you should also refrain from bringing companions during your appointment who have no business being at the lounge. This way, the number of people at the salon is kept to a minimum.
4. Fill out a travel and health screening form prior to your date of visit.
Needless to say, be truthful in declaring your health conditions and travel history. This is not just for your own safety but also for everyone else’s.
5. Wear a mask!
The lash salon will be strictly implementing a “no mask, no entry” policy. The same applies if you have a temperature of 37.6 C and above.
NÉW Lounge's Greenhills branch is now accepting salon reservations and home service bookings. Message them on Instagram @newlounge.ph to book an appointment or make an inquiry.
