Do-it-yourself: Turn Your Kohl Pencil Eyeliner Into A Gel Eyeliner We teach you how to turn your pencil liner into a gel with one easy step.

Have you been wanting to try a different type of eyeliner for the longest time, but are too afraid to spend on one only to realize it’s not for you? Then we might just have something for you. The long weekend—a staycation at that—is the perfect time to experiment with makeup. For this DIY, you won’t be needing to spend a cent to get the best out of your good old pencil.

Turn your kohl pencil eyeliner into a gelliner for a day by simply holding it under a flame (you can use a lighter, a candle, or even your stove top) for a second or two. Let it cool for a bit, line it on your hand, and when you feel like it’s ready to perk up your peepers you can glide away. Yup, that’s all it takes to turn your dry pencil into a soft gel that will allow you to perfect that winged-eye look you’ve been dying to try. A gel liner gives you the precision of a liquid liner sans the mess you can make if you’re no expert. The best part? It goes back to being a pencil after it completely dries up allowing you to return to what you’re used to if the gel doesn’t work out.

And to make things even more exciting, we have four beauty experts to demonstrate how they put on their eyeliner like a pro. Click here!

Give it a shot and tweet us @stylebibleph after to tell us about your experience. Happy long weekend, ladies!
