Cosmic Girl Tsumori Chisato shines for Shu Uemura.

Renowned Japanese fashion designer Tsumori Chisato transcends boundaries for Shu Uemura's artist collaboration series: the artist, well-respected for her feminine yet fun aesthetic, translates her trademark wispy style for the beauty brand's 2009-10 Autumn/Winter holiday collection.

Entitled “Cosmic Fantasy,” the fantastic range takes on a delightfully whimsical bent, with gold and silver stars set against a backdrop of midnight blue and meeting with charming little cats and ribbons. The star-spangled palettes are home to a rainbow of romantic pastels that remind one of the space-y, retro charm of roller discos past—iridescent lilacs, peaches, golds and powder blues are staples. And with shades so flattering, it's an uphill battle to resist clearing the shelves and basking in the cute explosion.

One look at the visual's cherubic nymphette sitting pretty on the crescent moon (via Shu Uemura International Artistic Director Kakuyasu Uchiide, no less) and you'd know Tsumori Chisato was a true gal's gal. The designer took inspiration from nostalgic sights such as the Australian night sky and Tokyo Tower while bedecked with glittering lights. The sweetly festive collection highlights the spontaneous, yet preciously pretty, aspect of women's beauty everywhere.

Names like “Planet Cat Palette,” “Stardust Duo Color Highlighter,” “Venus Pink Rouge Unlimited Lipstick” and “Moon Gold Gloss Unlimited” put the adorable seal on the deal. And with all pieces in the line still bearing the Shu Uemura name, you're guaranteed Japanese-grade quality—albeit with an extra helping of pixie dust and happy thoughts.

(Ed's note: The cat-and-star-themed Rouge Unlimited tube also disassembles and connects to other Shu Uemura lipsticks, so you can adorn your other lippies with kitty pride as well).

The starry-bright Tsumori Chisato for Shu Uemura 2009-10 Autumn/Winter “Cosmic Fantasy” Collection is available at Shu Uemura boutiques starting November 2009.
