When it comes to flawless headshots, Chie Filomeno is at the forefront of our minds. The internet-proclaimed patron saint of ID photos has reached virality for a reason, thanks to a visage seemingly immune to awkward lighting. But while the impeccable makeup is all her doing, the actress recently unveiled that she had a little help courtesy of a celebrity hairstylist!

In the June 8 episode of the morning talk show Magandang Buhay, guest star Chie sat down with hosts Regine Velasquez, Melai Cantiveros, and Jolina Magdangal, where the topic of her viral passport photo came up.
When Regine asked the actress how she achieved such a flawless ID, Chie recounted the night before her appointment, when she dropped an inquiry for celebrity hairstylist Aries Manal. “Mi-nessage ko siya the night before, ‘Mhie, available ka ba?’”
Aries expressed that he was free the next day, proceeding to inquire about further details. “Nag-tanong siya, ‘Anong ganap?’”
Chie simply responded that it was for her passport photo, but according to her, the hairstylist didn’t seem to believe it at first! “Tapos hindi na siya nag-reply, akala niya nag-jo-joke ako,” she said. “So the next day, pag pasok niya ng kwarto ko, sabi niya, ‘O, mhie, anong ganap?’”
After Chie insisted that it really was for a passport photo, the star joked, “Ten years of our friendship ang nakasalalay dito.”
The rest, of course, was history, if her viral passport photo is proof enough. Aries spruced up her tresses with natural waves, tucking them behind her ear to follow the ID mandates. Coupled with Chie’s makeup prowess–which she previously detailed–the overall look is definitely worth the hype!
