"It's not for vanity."

Chie Filomeno is one of the few celebrities who aren't afraid to admit they did plastic surgery, and in a recent interview, she finally explains why she decided to get a nose job. "There’s a story behind it," she tells PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal). "Kasi nung ipinanganak ako, I was born in Japan, gusto ni mommy normal delivery. It took her siguro whole day mag-labor, hindi kaya. If 50-50 na kailangan ko na lumabas so emergency CS [caesarean] ako."

“Since emergency, yung doctor, pagkahiwa niya, natamaan yung ilong ko. Tapos sabi nila, mag-regenerate daw kasi baby pa naman daw ako. I was 14, wala, ganito pa rin siya, hindi pa rin tumubo yung buto."

Chie continues that both of her parents have high-bridged noses. Whereas with hers, Chie points out that you can see a scar on her nose, where the scalpel spliced her. Thus, she needed the nose job to correct her nose bridge.

"Hindi siya vanity," Chie emphasized. "Well, kahit vanity, yun yung [dahilan] kung bakit naging confident ako. Naging confident ako dahil napaayos ko yung insecurity ko."

Chie also adds that there's nothing wrong with having any part of your body get surgically fixed if it will help with your confidence. "Enhancing something sa face mo na gusto mo maging confident [in], it doesn’t make you less of a person. Kung ikaka-confident mo yun, why not do it, kasi yun ang magpapasaya sa iyo and alam mo what’s best for you.”
