It's literally pretty AND cool.

Back in Februrary, celebrity hairstylist Justine Marjan made a case for the chain ponytail at Christian Siriano's Fall/Winter 2019 show. It easily became one of the standout beauty looks from NYFW, and once you see it, you'll instantly know why.

In an interview, Justine says the chain ponytail is her take on elevating the hair accessory trend—they add "an element of surprise," she said. The look is basically a optical illusion, since you can't really see where the chains are attached. In reality, however, they're hooked on a cornrow braid that extends from the top of the ear, the crown, to the other side of the head like a headband (click here for a better visual!).

No time for the crown braid? Create small braids on the sides of your head instead and hook your chains there.
