Acne is one of the major skin concerns that most, if not all, have experienced at least once in our lives. For many people, it’s not an easy condition to treat, as there are those who deal with it from their teens all the way into adulthood. Others experience acne suddenly and out of nowhere, even during their mid-30s. It’s many people's biggest source of insecurity–and yes, even beauty queens aren’t exempt from this skin condition.
Case in point: In a recent Instagram post, Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Celeste Cortesi recently opened up about her experience with acne, citing stress from the competition as its main cause.

Celeste recently uploaded an unfiltered selfie of her showing her acne breakout. In the post's caption, she explained how stress–not just mental, but physical and environmental stress–from the Miss Universe competition led to the skin condition. “We all know how stressful competitions can be, and I wasn’t spared from that same kind of stress,” she said.
“After the Miss Universe competition, my skin went through a lot of stress. From the changing weather [conditions], irregular sleeping patterns, long hours of wearing makeup, etc. The day after the competition, I woke up and my face was all red. It was a really bad breakout,” she continued.
Followers of the beauty queen commented on her post giving support, commenting how she still looked gorgeous even with acne, and we totally agree.
Binibining Pilipinas 2022 contestant Esel Ponce also commented, saying, “Aww, as a person who easily gets pimple breakouts too, I totally know the feeling.”
You're beautiful, Celeste—inside and out!
