Beauty queens spend most of their days wearing a full face of makeup, so it's no surprise that they've got their makeup skills down pat. Did you know that Miss Universe titleholders Pia Wurtzbach and Catriona Gray did their own makeup for the pageant's coronation night?
Today, we're putting the spotlight on another talented queen: Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Celeste Cortesi! She recently shared her skincare and "natural and simple yet glam" makeup tutorial on YouTube. The Filipina-Italian beauty also revealed how she makes her makeup last, and we're definitely taking down notes! Ahead, we round up the best tips we learned from Celeste:
How To Make Your Makeup Last, According To Celeste Cortesi
1. Prime your skin.
"If you want your makeup to last for the whole day, you really need to use a primer before [applying] foundation," Celeste shared, noting that she never skips this step! This base product helps your foundation adhere more easily to your skin, especially when you have an oily complexion.
2. Apply your cream products.
Layering is key to keeping your MOTD intact. According to Celeste, she likes using a cream contour stick and a cream blush to define her features, blending them with a damp sponge. "I always use all the cream products before the powders," she revealed, which brings us to the next step...
4. Layer your creams with your powder blush and powder bronzer.
This simple technique will keep your makeup from melting off your face!
5. Dust a setting powder all over your face.
This will also prevent your creams and liquids from creasing and smudging. Plus, it will soak up oil and sweat!
6. Finally, spritz a setting spray!
Aside from extending the life of your masterpiece, a setting spray also helps hydrate the skin and bring back the glow to your face, especially after powdering it.
