Learn from the pros!

Starting to feel the summer heat? As much as we always try to look our best, no one wants to be wearing full-coverage makeup in this climate. Now is the best time to start leaning towards lighter and more natural-looking makeup looks, so we're calling it: The "no-makeup" trend is about to come back in full swing.

If you're looking for the best ways to achieve the "no-makeup" clean girl aesthetic this summer, keep reading! We asked some of the best celebrity makeup artists what their pro tips are, and here's what they shared:

Celebrity Makeup Artists Share Tips on How to Achieve the "No-Makeup" Makeup Look for the Summer

1. Jason Delos Reyes: Less is more

"Cream and liquid products are your best buddy in achieving [the] no makeup makeup look, [particularly] bronzers, blush and highlighters [because they] melt on your skin. Just put less foundation and [use] translucent powder on the areas that [make you] oily. Lastly, spray a good amount of setting spray [to ensure that] your makeup [stays] all day long."

2. Denise Ochoa: Get dewy sunkissed skin with tinted sunscreens

"I like using tinted sunscreens during the summer for a dewy sunkissed look. I usually follow with creamy bases for the cheeks and eyes. I tap it with a loose blush to finish just so it doesn't look cakey. It's usually about [getting a] summer glow that doesn't just look good in photos and videos. [It’s] very important to look beautiful in person too."

3. Slo Lopez: Use sheer washes of color

"My tip would be [to layer] cohesive sheer washes of color. For [the] complexion, I like to mix a bit of [liquid] base [with] bright or pigmented products. If it's a powder, I go over the [skin] with the tool I used for foundation so it looks like the color is coming from underneath my skin versus sitting on top."

4. RB Chanco: It all starts with good skincare

"[It’s really important] to devote your time to a 'summer' skin care routine. Best to use skincare products with niacinamide. [It’s] my go to ingredient to minimize pores and control oiliness."

"Tinted moisturizer with SPF! Apply [it] all over the face to even out [the] skin tone without actually looking too made up, plus you [protect the] skin from sun damage! For blemishes and under eye circles, dab concealer where it's needed. [To] add that “fake tan” where the sun would naturally hit your face (such as the bridge of nose, cheekbones & temples of your forehead), use cream or liquid bronzer."

"The star [of] the [no makeup makeup] look: a peachy glowy multi use cream product. [Apply it] on the upper cheekbones as blush to lift [the] face. [You can] also use it as your lip color and dab [it] on to your eyelids too for a hint of color. Lastly, curl your lashes and apply mascara!"

5. Gery Penaso: Master using cream based products

"For me the best way to achieve a no-makeup look is [by] mastering the use of cream based products. From base to shading and highlighting, blush, brows and eyeshadows. It's worth investing [in] these types of products. Practice and learning techniques using cream-based products is key in order to maximize its full power. The effect is way more natural and fresh looking [than powder based products]."

6. Paul Unating: Don’t overdo your foundation

"I think the best advice for the no makeup makeup look is to not [overdo] your foundation base. I think skin care is [also] very important so you don't need to put too much foundation base."
