Bored with Your Everyday Makeup Look? Try These Instead

Say hello to your new #LOTD.

Every woman knows the importance of an everyday makeup look. It's the no-fail way you do your face every morning, the quick five-minute routine that readies you for the rest of your day. For some girls, it can be as simple as mascara paired with flushed cheeks and some undereye concealer, but for others, it's a whole routine that involves layers of products and multiple steps.

One thing's for sure: Your everyday makeup look can get monotonous. While it's good to have a signature go-to face, it leaves little room for creativity, making you miss the opportunity to spice up your vibe. But don't worry; here are ways you can easily discover new pegs to switch up and play with your look.

1. Apply colored eyeliner in the inner corners of your eyes

Afraid of color? This is one way to dip your toe in the color spectrum without having to put in the work. All you have to do is color in the inner corners of your eyes with a bright liner (metallic ones work best!) for a pop of color.

Just remember to start out slow by trying more muted colors like gold or silver, then work your way up to teal or amethyst when you’re feeling more daring and playful.

2. Use blue mascara to bring life back to your eyes.

Blue mascara might seem like a shocking, hard-to-pull-off color, but it's really not. You see, the color blue makes the whites of your eyes look whiter, helping you look more awake. If you've just pulled an all-nighter, it wouldn't hurt to have a tube handy.

If you're sporting blue mascara, forget eyeshadow. With a pop of blue on your eyes, you'll discover that you already have enough color to make your eyes really stand out. Keep the rest of your face bare and neutral to let your eyes do the talking.

3. Wake your face up with a peachy flush.

Pink isn't the only blush color out there. When you're not feeling 100 percent and your complexion is showing it, peach-toned blush is your new best friend. One sweep and the universally flattering color brings life back to your face.

4. Use a lip and cheek tint for your face.

Monochromatic makeup is all the rage, and that's a good thing for those who like their makeup quick and easy. As the name suggests, one shade is all you need to color your face.

Here's how to play around the trend: Simply stain your lips using a lip and cheek tint (plus points if you keep the color concentrated at the center of your lips for a gradient look!), then color your cheeks with it and brush a bit on your lids to tie the whole look together.

5. Apply white eyeliner as an instant pick-me-up.

White eyeliner may not be the first thing that comes to mind when buying makeup, but it’s a great tool for highlighting.

First, use it on your lower lash lines to help perk up your eyes. The white streaks make your eyes look bigger and more awake. Next, blend a little bit on the inner corners of your eyes and the center of your eyelids for an even wider-eyed stare.
